Summary
- Necessary cookies support sign-in and security. You choose preferences and statistics for signed-out visits.
- Visitor statistics appear in Lexico's internal traffic overview using pseudonymous browser and account keys.
- The central traffic event contains no raw IP address, email, full user-agent string or URL query parameters.
- Signed-in activity is recorded as part of the service. Operational and error events are also recorded without optional visitor statistics.
Cookie settings
Open Manage consent. Select Preferences and Visitor statistics separately, then choose Save choices. Accept all enables both; Necessary only disables both. An earlier Accept all does not cover the new statistics choice.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. It is used to remember choices, keep you signed in, or measure usage. Cookies cannot run programs or read data from your hard drive.
2. Cookies we use
The table shows cookie names, purposes, durations and categories. Statistics for signed-out visits require the new explicit statistics choice. When signed in, activity is recorded as part of the service.
3. Central traffic overview
Academy sends operational events and eligible page views to Lexico's internal traffic overview. Browser, account and company keys are pseudonymised before transmission. Raw IP addresses, email, full user-agent strings, referrer query parameters and URL query parameters are not sent. Statistics cookies are not shared between domains.
Exception during payment
During the payment flow you are temporarily redirected to Stripe (EU instance), which sets its own cookies for secure card handling. These are Stripe's responsibility — see stripe.com/cookie-settings.
4. localStorage and sessionStorage
In addition to cookies we use two browser-based storages (both deleted when you clear browser data):
-
localStorage
Used to remember expanded/collapsed state of the admin sidebar so it doesn't reset every time you navigate.
-
sessionStorage
Used to preserve scroll position when changing language or during certain form submissions, so you aren't thrown back to the top.
5. How to manage cookies
Use Manage consent to change your choices without blocking sign-in. Turning statistics off stops optional collection from the next request and removes the statistics cookie when signed out. This choice does not delete events already recorded. The browser settings below can also delete or block cookies.

6. Changes to this notice
This page is updated when cookie use changes. The previous Accept all choice covered preferences only and does not consent to visitor statistics. The new banner lets you choose statistics explicitly.
